You Know It's Bad When Even a Twenty Year Old Loses Hope for the Future

"And if this relationship also doesn't work out for you, then what? What?! Anvils?!?!"

We also wrote off my 40 year old aunt as ever finding true love. Although she was pretty (not gorgeous, but very attractive with a good figure) and had a well established career, the lamentations from her parents were heard throughout the land due to her "single status". She had one broken engagement to her credit (her bastard fiance dumped her for a younger woman who put the "ooze" in Floozy) but that didn't count for the parentals.

Finally, at 41 she met her true love (at work- he was - gag - her boss), at 43 she married him, at 47 (I kid you not) she did the donor egg thing and is now pregnant. Late bloomer? Yeah, but what the hell, now she has a fabulous house, a fabulous career and although she'll be retired when her son moves out of the house to go to college, she's actually "done it all."

P.S. I met my husband at a bar (St. Mark's Ale House, NYC) (how gauche, I know) eight months into thirty - If I can get married, anyone can...Don't lose hope!
